Hanover HS Boys Soccer 2009 Preseason Information


1.
Soccer preseason tryouts will begin on Monday, August 17 for all candidates at Huntley Meadow in Norwich, VT. Candidates for all three teams (Varsity, Junior Varsity and Reserves) are invited from 9:00 - 3:00 p.m. on the 17th - 20th. Players should bring ample drinking water and a healthy lunch including protein for muscle recovery. Players must be properly equipped with approved shinguards and socks. Players must bring a properly-inflated ball well-marked with their name.

2. Varsity candidates must attend from August 17-20. Candidates for JV and Reserves unable to attend during this week may begin tryouts on August 24, with a full opportunity to make either team.

3. All candidates must return completed paperwork and participation fee of $125 to the HHS Athletic Office prior to their first tryout session. All of the paperwork is available on line only at the following address: www.hanoverhigh.us (click on "Sports"). The Athletic Department is not mailing the forms this year. 4. The first round of cuts will occur after the session on August 18. The second round of cuts will occur after the session on August 20. A squad of 40 players will be selected and invited to attend preseason Team Camp at the Windridge Camp in Roxbury, VT from August 21-23. This is an overnight residential camp. Transportation will be provided to and from the camp. Further information about the camp will be provided on the first day of tryouts.

5. Training sessions, tryouts and scrimmages for all three teams will resume on Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25. The first day of school is Wednesday, August 26.

6. There will be a meeting for all players and parents on all three teams on Thursday, August 27 at 5:30 at the high school, followed by a potluck picnic at 6:30. The varsity team will host a home scrimmage at 7:00 p.m.
