JV and Varsity to Clash with Huntley Scrimmage Friday

When both scrimmage opportunities for the Varsity and JV scheduled for Friday and Saturday evaporated, the logical step was to join forces. As a result, the Marauder JV will scrimmage the Varsity at 4:00 this Friday at Huntley.

The Varsity had been scheduled to host The Derryfield School on Friday on the HHS turf, but the field hockey playoff game took priority, and the Varsity was without a venue, and subsequently without an opponent. The JV was hoping to play the Lebanon JV on Saturday, but the Raiders could not muster a full squad, and declined to come. Instead, all of the tension and animosity built up over a week's worth of crowded bus rides (fighting over bagels, debating which DVD to watch, quarreling about the choice seats at the back of the bus) will come to a head on the final afternoon of activity this fall on the hallowed Huntley pitch.

The fact that several Varsity behemoths will be missing due to college visits will make it a much more even game. Without Dan Remillard and Chris Tecca in the lineup, and with a lot of the
non-starters in line for the bulk of the Varsity playing time, it should be a competitive and entertaining match.
